ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project is an Email Editor tool I pitched, designed, and help develop & launch for Email on Acid. The Marketing team had been gathering a lot of user feedback from surveys, outreach and social media of what other tools our users wanted. It was clear there was a need for an email builder of some sort. I really felt strongly about this idea since I once was their target user, I use to build email templates and was very familiar with the testing process and the pain points. I put together plans for what this new tool could be and once more solidified, I wireframed out the basic idea I had for how the Email Editor could work. I then even pitched the idea to the CEO to get the approval to start. I worked closely with project managers to break the project down into Jira tickets for the upcoming sprints and then lead the project kick-off with engineering. I designed all the wireframes, UI mockups, UX strategy and wrote the frontend code to hand of the engineering. I worked closely with engineering since we has a short timeline, so I would help review their builds and test them. We launched a BETA version to get feedback and find any bugs before officially going live. Marketing took over from there promoting the editor and its capabilities, I worked with them to let them know the features they might want to highlight and our target audience for the tool, and provided them some animated designs they could use in their promotional material. +10 years later the email editor looks and acts exactly the same, demonstrating how strong the UI is to have held up without any issues. Within months the Editor became the 2nd most used tool offered out of 9 tools, #1 being email preview testing (the main service). The Email Editor was built to improve an email developer’s workflow and allow them to build HTML emails and test edits in real time, and it has successfully done just that.
This tool is only available for members and free trial users.
